ANNUAL ISSUE OF THE GARIBALD'S HUT CONSERVATION SOCIETY OF RAVENNA

The newsletter "2 Giugno" has been published every year by the Conservation Society since 1975. It contains a summary of the society's activities during the year and is the official voice of the Conservation Society. It is published in a single issue each year for the purpose, among others, of testifying to the cultural and political importance of the Risorgimento in Italy.

The society publishes their own informative leaflets for the purpose of conserving historical memories of the events of the heroic 'trafila' which, in 1849, was decisive in saving General Garibaldi.

Each issue of "2 Giugno" shows - on the first page - the text of the commemorative manifesto on the death of Garibaldi and which the society has published since 1882. In first place in the newsletter the report annually presented by the administration of the society is given.

The report gives an accurate account of all the activities promoted by the society during the year (from June of the previous year to June of the current year), for the purpose of conserving the hut and its utilisation by schoolchildren, the public and tourists. These initiatives are often undertaken in collaboration with other co-financing bodies: the municipality of Ravenna and Credit institutions.

The topics covered in the various issues concern the events of the 'trafila' of Garibaldi, the figures of Garibaldi and Anita and numerous other men of the Italian Risorgimento. Furthermore, thanks to the collaboration of the members, the newsletter has promoted the constitution of a Risorgimento museum in Ravenna containing art and medals on Risorgimento themes.
